Check out these insider Canvas tips as Fall draws to a close and we prepare for Spring.
From the Archives: Top 5 Insider Canvas Tips
As you wrap up this semester and get your courses ready for the spring, we thought it might be helpful to review these tips. Our blog entry from July goes more in depth.
- Batch edit assignment dates to make changes to several assignments at once.
- Use the page duplication feature when creating a lot of new content to keep your formatting consistent.
- The “Message Students Who” feature in New Analytics lets you communicate with groups of students who may be missing a particular assignment or scored within a certain range.
- If you want to round up student grades or incorporate extra credit at the end of the semester, you can use the Final Grade Override to make adjustments.
- Update your Canvas profile to let students know more about you, your interests, and your professional work.

Next Semester Prep Workshop
Earlier this week, we held a hybrid workshop to demonstrate and offer live support on how to best prepare your Canvas course site for next semester. This included migrating Canvas courses into empty shells, changing due dates, and laying out the steps to make this process as simple as possible.
Recording of the session coming soon! Check back on next week’s blog posts to see the link to the recording.
