Representatives from the Sonoco Institute traveled to Fort Worth, Texas last month for the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) FORUM 2022, a four-day technical conference themed “Corralling Solutions, Creating Results.” With nine sessions and more than 25 technical presentations from industry experts, FORUM 2022 explored how the technology powering cutting-edge flexographic printing can help flexographers corral solutions to create exemplary results for clients. Held in conjunction with FORUM 2022 was INFOFLEX 2022, which is an event where decision makers can meet with exhibitors who can provide the latest, most innovative technologies for the package printing and converting industry.

The panelists for the “How Do I Fix This?” session at FORUM, including our own Kenny Tucker, addressed common flexo print issues and how to fix them.
“Ink management is something that everyone should be checking constantly, and it has a lot of impact on your return on investment of time,” said Kenny Tucker, Project Coordinator, Sonoco Institute.
Bobby Congdon, Assistant Director of the Sonoco Institute, co-chaired the session “Improving Print Quality Through Optimization.” Industry experts discussed the different areas of the flexographic printing process to explain how each element—from digital prepress and screening to ink, plates and anilox rolls—can be optimized to improve overall quality and production.
