Clemson University Staff Senate

Staff Senate opens card sale to benefit scholarship

There are an array of Clemson buildings represented in the watercolor card bundles.

Staff Senate strives to support Clemson’s staff through advocacy, recognition, and service. Our annual fundraiser benefitting the Staff Senate Endowed Scholarship gives you a chance to pitch in, too! This year, we are offering a special, limited-edition bundle of cards featuring charming watercolor paintings of Clemson buildings painted by Thabang Nyondo ‘21, a talented architecture alum.

Your purchase of these lovely cards contributes directly to the Staff Senate Endowed Scholarship, which provides $2,500 scholarships to 15 students each year. These scholarships are awarded based on need and academic achievement, supporting the children of Clemson staff members in pursuit of their educational goals.

Don’t miss out! Purchase of these beautiful cards can take place on Marketplace beginning March 1.  Make a difference and add a touch of Clemson charm to your correspondence.

About the The Staff Senate Endowed Scholarship:

In 1989, the Senate established an academic scholarship that was awarded to the child of a staff member.

These scholarships are made possible through generous support from Clemson University staff, faculty, administrators and community friends. Funds are raised by payroll deduction and from other fund-raising efforts by the Staff Senate.

Celebrating Employee Appreciation Day on March 1, 2024 and Beyond!

Employee Appreciation Day is typically a showing of gratitude to employees for everything they contribute to an organization’s success. As we commemorate Employee Appreciation Day at Clemson, we celebrate not only your professional accomplishments but also the richness of our collective diversity.

We want to recognize and honor every employee for their unique perspectives, experiences, and contributions. Each of you plays a vital role in creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work every day. Our intersections in background, culture, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, abilities, and perspectives are what make us stronger as a team and enable us to innovate, collaborate, and thrive.

We are committed to fostering an environment where community, engagement, belonging, and access is championed. Our voices matter, and our experiences shape the Clemson Family. Together, we are building a community where everyone has access and opportunity to grow, succeed, and fulfill their potential.

On this Employee Appreciation Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to community, engagement, belonging, and access. Let us continue to support one another, listen with empathy, and celebrate the collective strength of our community. Let us continue to foster meaningful connections, embrace diversity of thought, and cultivate a culture of belonging where everyone has a seat at the table.

Thank you for being an integral part of our journey towards community, engagement, belonging, and access in the workplace. Together, we can create positive change and build a brighter future for all.

New OnBase-Performance support system launched; designed to better address employees’ needs

Office of Human Resources wordmark

The Office of Human Resources (OHR) is excited to announce a new OnBase-Performance support system, allowing for quicker and more efficient addressing of employees’ questions and issues with the online performance management form.

Employees should submit all questions regarding OnBase-Performance to OHR via the OnBase-Performance Support Form.

The form can also be found on the staff performance management page of the OHR website.

This form will allow employees to document their questions or issues with the form or process and send them directly to the OnBase Support team. Employees will receive automatic email updates when the form is received and resolved, informing them of the status of their question.

Both members of Clemson’s Office of Human Resources and individuals from KeyMark, the vendor supporting the operation of OnBase-Performance, will provide support to employees through the OnBase Support Team. With experience facilitating and troubleshooting OnBase systems, the Keymark representatives will be an added asset to address employee inquiries.

More information about OnBase-Performance and the staff performance management process can be found on the Office of Human Resources website.

OHR launches new training program for department HR and Payroll liaisons

The Office of Human Resources will soon launch a comprehensive onboarding and training program for department-level HR and Payroll liaisons, addressing a need across the University.

The HR and Payroll Liaison (HRPL) Bootcamp Program includes an onboarding plan and checklist for supervisors and the employee and job-specific training. HRPLs will also have access to an online repository of training, job guides, forms and other resources to help them perform their job duties.

HRPLs are critical to the University’s success and provide vital support to their departments. The program was designed to help employees feel confident in their roles, enhancing their work experience.

“HR was excited to partner with existing liaisons to create a program for that ensures new HRPLs have the necessary knowledge and resources from day one. We hope this program will increase their comfort and skills to support the employees in their departments effectively,” said Michelle Cato, senior director of talent management.

More resources are also available to HRPLs and supervisors through the Supervisors and HR/Payroll Liaison section of the OHR website.
