Clemson University’s Fightin’ Tiger Battalion conducted an Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) as well as Drill and Ceremony Lab on the 28th of August. Early Thursday morning at 0500, Cadets showed up at the Clemson track area for their APFT. The APFT consists of three events: 2 minutes of push-ups, 2 minutes of sit-ups, and a 2-mile run. The Freshmen and Sophomores worked at improving their scores or trying to score high enough to Contract; Cadets who where contracting needed to pass each event with 60% in order to receive their scholarship. 60% for males is 42 push-ups, 53 sit-ups and a 15:54 on the 2 mile run. For females the standards are slightly different. 19 Push-ups is a 60%, run time is 18:48 and sit-ups are the same standard.
