Lowcountry Branch Student Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist students in an undergraduate or graduate program
at an accredited South Carolina private or public college or university and are enrolled in a
course of study related to the Public Works field. This scholarship is awarded for one year only.
To be considered for subsequent years the applicant must reapply. Only one scholarship is
awarded each year. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to attend a SC APWA Lowcountry
Branch meeting to receive the award. Please type or print all information on the application
form. If application requirements are not met, the application will be deemed incomplete and
not considered eligible for the award. This scholarship is in the amount of $1000.00 (One
Thousand Dollars).
Requirements: The recipient of this scholarship must be enrolled in a public works related
program at an accredited South Carolina private or public college or university, maintain a B
(3.0) grade average, be from one of the counties in the Lowcountry Branch area (Jasper,
Hampton, Beaufort, Colleton, Dorchester, Charleston, Berkeley, Williamsburg, Georgetown or
Horry) and submit an essay about why they are interested in public works and how their major
