Free Student Membership_Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA)

September 14, 2020

With more than 10,000 members, the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is the largest association of solid waste and recycling professionals in the world. In these uncertain times, SWANA continues to be the leader in helping the industry respond to the ongoing challenges posed by COVID-19, and is increasingly recognized by national media organizations, like NPR as a subject matter expert of a growing number of waste and recycling topics.

SWANA keeps industry professionals informed about the latest developments through our Coronavirus resources webpage, weekly webinars, and frequent email updates.

It is imperative that the next generation of solid waste, recycling, sustainability, and civil and environmental engineering students are made aware of SWANA and its opportunities before beginning their careers.

One way we want to make students aware of SWANA is by offering FREE Student Membership. By becoming a member of SWANA, students can…

  • Meet with current leaders and decision makers working in solid waste, environmental science, composting, and recycling who can lead to potential internships and become future employers
  • Interact with peers from across the country and the globe who have similar study and career interests via online forums and local/national events
  • Access #MentorMatch – the SWANA online mentoring site
  • Receive access to SWANA Applied Research Foundation reports
  • Apply for SWANA Scholarships
  • Learn more about industry trends and new technologies that can guide their course of study and lead to career opportunities

For full-time students (undergraduate, graduate, or PhD candidate) FREE SWANA Student Membership is a perfect fit.
