Your work matters and the Faculty ADVANCEment Office has been established to support you during your career at Clemson. As we change seasons and start another academic year, we want to encourage you to set aside time on your calendar for your own professional development. Participating in mentoring activities, setting up a semester plan, or attending a writing workshop can help attain your goals and advance your career. The Faculty ADVANCEment Office is excited to announce our September events to kick off the Fall 2023 semester and help you achieve your goals; Faculty Coffee Klatch and Writing Drop-in Session.
Faculty Coffee Klatch, September 7th from 12:30-1:30 pm
The Faculty ADVANCEment Office is sponsoring regular opportunities for faculty to join the 
ADVANCEment team in open discussions about ideas that are important to you. Please drop in and have a conversation over a cup of coffee. Our version of “office hours” provides a forum for an open and relaxed exchange of ideas involving initiatives, upcoming events, and the progress toward the implementation of research-informed programs that support faculty across the University. This is also an opportunity to listen and learn how we can assist in the recruitment, retention, and professional development of faculty, as we sustain and grow the Clemson faculty community. Faculty Writing Drop- In Session, September 11th from 8:30- 11 am
Want to disappear and write for a while? Feel free to drop in by one of the writing sessions sponsored by the Faculty ADVANCEment Office. Ensuring that faculty have the time 
and space to focus on scholarship, one of the most important aspects to their successful advancement, the Faculty ADVANCEment office offers regular writing sessions. We provide an opportunity for faculty to step back from other commitments and the noise of life and focus on a project of their choice (manuscript, creative writing, grants). Each session also allows faculty to meet colleagues, see old friends, and quietly co-work with Clemson colleagues over coffee and treats. Come for as much or as little time as you can spare.
