Mid-career coaching opportunity- Apply by Jan. 22, 2024

The Office of Faculty ADVANCEment is delighted to announce that the application portal is now open for the Clemson Mid-Career Faculty Coaching Program.

In Spring 2024, up to 13 midcareer faculty members will be selected to participate, and each will receive six (6) individual coaching sessions with the staff at Academic Impressions.  Academic Impressions has been focused on leadership and professional development for higher education professionals for more than 20 years.  These coaches have extensive experience in higher education and expertise on mid-career issues. Its cohort-based structure is designed to address the isolation many faculty experience midcareer and to provide opportunities to connect around common challenges. During the program, participants will:

  • Complete a Mid-Career-Discovery needs assessment to identify topic areas most relevant to participants.
  • Participate in a 60-minute Program Launch session.
  • Engage in 6 virtual, one-on-one coaching sessions (phone or video) with a Faculty Coach.
  • Enjoy a 60-minute “Watch party” half-way through the program.
  • Have email access and/or text communication with the coach between conversations.
  • Complete an end-of-program assessment survey.

We estimate this program will require approximately 1.5 hours every other week.  That will include 1 hour for a meeting with your coach and the rest to utilize the suggested resources or complete assignments from your coach.  Faculty will be able to schedule coaching sessions at a time that is convenient for them and their coach.
