Dr. Turner’s Class Enjoys a Game of Robot Soccer

December 7, 2018

Dr. Cameron Turner’s ME 8700 class held an end-of-semester robot soccer tournament today on the second floor of the Fluor Daniel Building. 48 students were divided into teams of three to build robots that could play soccer with a ping pong ball. Four robots would then be assigned to each soccer team. Each robot was a special type which included goalies, forwards and sweepers. Some of the goalies were very successful performing numerous “saves” during the games. The first robot “shootout” was needed to break a tie as well. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy the project as the excited shouts could be heard all over the building.
