On April 17th, Digital Learning Strategist James Butler led an informative, beginner-friendly presentation on how to start utilizing AI tools. The presentation provided an in-depth explanation of best practices for using AI tools, and how to start using AI for course design or development.

Butler begins the presentation by explaining best practices for AI for educators, including the need to be clear, understand AI’s limits, and know about data privacy. He then goes into more detailed explanations about how to incorporate AI into course design, development, and brainstorming. Butler also incorporates some reflection time at the end of the presentation for instructors in attendance to reflect on their experiences practicing with an AI tool.
Overall, this session provides audiences with important information regarding beginner-friendly ethical and responsible AI use for instructors.
