On Wednesday, May 28, Digital Learning Strategist Millie Tullis presented a series of time-savers for building content, grading, and engaging with students in Canvas. Participants learned several tips for making their teaching lives easier, including the following:
- “Batch editing” Assignment due dates: Did you know you can adjust all your Assignment deadlines on one page? This tip saves time by avoiding the hassle of opening each Assignment individually in order to change the due date.
- Using Canvas’ “duplicate” function: Rather than creating every Canvas Page or Assignment from scratch each time, you can use the duplicate function to copy content instantly, preventing you from having to start completely over each time you create a course element.
- Creating links with the Canvas “course links” tool rather than copy/pasting browser URLs so that links don’t break when you import content semester to semester.
- Finding and importing Page templates, design elements, and more at the Faculty Resource Center will save you time and effort.
To see how to implement these tips and many more, watch our Workshop Wednesday video recording for May 28, “Time-Saving Tools in Canvas.”
