On April 10th, IT Services Specialist John Dickinson led an informative presentation on how to utilize grade weights, extra credit, and additional Canvas Gradebook settings. The presentation provided an in-depth explanation of the various settings within the Canvas Gradebook, as well as Gradebook feature demonstrations.
Dickinson begins the presentation by showing the audience how to group assignments in the Gradebook, as well as how to weight different types of assignments. He then goes into more detailed explanations about additional Gradebook features, including how to specifically assign point deductions for various circumstances, how to arrange and color code assignments, how to mass message students about problematic grades, and how to set default grades. Dickinson makes sure to explain and demonstrate every Gradebook component thoroughly, especially with more complex tasks like assigning University Grading Schemes.
Overall, this session provides audiences with important information regarding the Canvas Gradebook and its various features.
