Adobe pdf logosCreating accessible documents is a crucial component of learning and communication at Clemson, so we are excited to announce that Clemson Online has launched the all new PDF Accessibility Guide. This comprehensive guide is available for self-enrollment through Canvas.

In the guide, you will find detailed instructions for making sure your PDFs are accessibility compliant. Each set of these instructions is accompanied by slide presentations that illustrate the step-by-step processes.

Topics in the guide include:

  • PDF Conversion Process
  • How to create/revise links, graphics, and tables to make them accessible
  • Why the reading order of a PDF is important and how to fix it
  • How to run your own accessibility check

The guide also has a discussion board where you can provide feedback and easily ask questions. Be sure to check out the “Additional Readings” page for further resources.

We hope this guide will become a trusted resource for you. Clemson Online has a suite of accessibility courses available to faculty and staff. You can check them out at Clemson Online’s Accessibility Page.
