June Training Sessions

June 12 – Quick Hits: Introduction to Academic Integrity Tools in Canvas

The Cooper Library fountains shoot up into the sun on a clear day.

Register for “Quick Hits: Introduction to Academic Integrity Tools in Canvas” on June 12, from 3-4:00 pm! This Quick Hit will cover using Lockdown Browser and Respondus Monitor for online quizzes and using Turnitin to check for possible plagiarism in your students’ written work. Whether you’re new to these tools, want to see their features demonstrated, or have a specific question about using these tools in your class, this training has you covered. When registering, please include any questions you have about this training topic.

June 16 – Introduction to Simple Syllabus

Register for “Introduction to Simple Syllabus” on June 16, from 3-4 pm! This training will demonstrate how to use the Simple Syllabus tool to build and publish an effective syllabus for your course. The training will also cover integrating Simple Syllabus with Canvas and the benefits of using this tool in your course.

June 25 – How to Deter Online Cheating Through Course Design

“How to Deter Online Cheating Through Course Design” will take place on June 25, from 1:30-2:30 pm! Join this training to learn more about deterring cheating through effective course design! This training will cover information about why students cheat and how to design assignments and courses in Canvas that increase motivation for online students. July 9 – Workshop Wednesday: Increasing Engagement in Your Zoom Classroom 

Register for “Workshop Wednesday: Increasing Engagement in Your Zoom Classroom” on July 9 from 1:30-2:30 pm! This workshop will cover strategies you can implement to make your Zoom classroom more engaging for learners through polls, whiteboards, breakout rooms, and more. July 16 – Workshop Wednesday: Simple Strategies for Making Your Canvas Course Beautiful

Join us for “Workshop Wednesday: Simple Strategies for Making Your Canvas Course Beautiful” on July 16, from 1:30-2:30 pm! This workshop will cover simple strategies and handy templates you can use to make your Canvas pages and assessments consistent and effective. Specifically, this workshop will cover using icons, buttons, banners, and customizable page and assessment templates to make your Canvas course look inviting and clear.

July 30 – Best Practices for Online Group Work

Register for “Best Practices for Online Group Work” on July 30, from 1:30-2:30 pm! This workshop will cover how to best design group projects, peer reviews, small group discussions, and more to increase engagement in your online a/synchronous classroom. If you have a specific question you want covered during this training, please enter it when you register.

All training sessions will be held via Zoom. After completing the registration form, you will receive an Outlook calendar invitation with the Zoom meeting information. All sessions will be recorded. All registrants will receive a link to the recorded training.
