On Thursday, August 22, The Fightin’ Tiger Battalion conducted its Drill and Ceremony Lab along with a contracting ceremony for several cadets. Due to some unexpected weather, the location of the lab had to be moved to the breezeway inside the football stadium, but this did not hinder the training for the day. The lab began with recognition of the Clemson Corps program and all they do for Clemson Army ROTC cadets.
This was followed shortly thereafter by the contracting ceremony for the battalion’s newest scholarship cadets. After the contracting ceremony, each platoon was broken off to learn and practice drill and ceremony for much of the remaining lab time. I was personally impressed by the exceptional improvement from start to finish and how quickly the new cadets were able pick up on basic drill and ceremony.
ML 1 cadets were issued their new ranks and were assisted by some of the more experienced cadets in pinning the ranks on. Finally, the platoons were brought together for some friendly competition and to see which platoon could perform drill and ceremony with the most precision.
