Amazon Smart Life Roadshow: Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. the Amazon Smart Life Roadshow Airstream will be outside the Watt Center. The Airstream will be loaded with Amazon-powered and Alexa-enabled smart tech for your office, dorm room, kitchen, living room and life. Take a tour of the 30-foot traveling smart home and explore new products.

Datapalooza: Freshman and sophomore Computer Science and Computer Engineering majors are invited to Datapalooza Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Academic Success Center, for a hands-on workshop with cutting edge technology. Students will build a solution to help music festival attendees find which DJ stage has the happiest crowd so they can catch the hottest DJ sets there. Don’t forget to register for the event!

Dell Tech Day: Representatives from Dell will be on-site in the Watt Center Atrium from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday to talk about their latest products and the best tech devices for your college needs. Drop in to learn more about Dell and pick up some cool prizes.

College of Business Career Conference 2018: Get ready to find the perfect job or internship on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Watt Atrium and Auditorium. There will be professionals on-site to review student resumes, practice interview skills and offer helpful tips.

TIGERS ADVANCE Distinguished Speaker Series: Don’t miss the Bioengineering Department’s Page Morton Hunter lecture series and TIGERS ADVANCE Distinguished Speaker Series with Kristi Anseth on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the Watt Auditorium. Anseth is the Tisone Distinguished Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering and Associate Faculty Director of the BioFrontiers Institute at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

“College to Careers: How Women Prosper in Technology” Panel Discussion: This Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the Watt Auditorium students can hear from four leading technology executives. Regina Kunkle, Sandra Harris, Virginie Maillard and Julianna Martinez will be on-site to answer your questions and network. After the discussion, enjoy a Networking Reception featuring prizes, including an Apple Watch!

Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month Keynote: Christine Chavez: Don’t miss this talk with Christine Chavez, granddaughter of Cesar Chavez, on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Watt Center Auditorium. The Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month Celebration was created with a desire to educate and heighten awareness about the rich culture.

“When Social Media Companies, Research Ethics, and Human Rights Collide,” a talk by Dr. Mary Gray: Co-sponsored by the Office of Research Compliance, the Office of Inclusion and Equity, and the Rutland Institute of Ethics, join us this Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the Watt Center Auditorium for a discussion with one of Microsoft’s leading voices on ethics and research. A book signing will immediately follow Gray’s talk. Remember to register online for the talk.

Fall Creative Inquiry Kick-Off and Summer CI Showcase: Be sure to drop by the Watt Center Atrium from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, where students will be presenting their summer research through different digital platforms. Creative Inquiry projects seeking new members will also be present at the event.

“Teaching Effectively with Excel” Workshop: Accounting professor Kyle Anderson is leading this hands-on Microsoft Excel workshop Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Room 310. You can register online for the workshop and learn more on the University calendar.
