Hayek Center hosts economist John Tamny on September 12, 2018

John Tamny, noted political economist and editor of RealClearMarkets, will be the inaugural guest speaker for Clemson University’s newly formed Hayek Center for the Business of Prosperity.

Tamny will speak at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, in Room 100 of Brackett Hall, followed by a Q&A. Admission is free and open to the public. Pizza will be provided at 5:15.

He will speak on wealth inequality in his lecture, “The Unrelenting Genius of Rising Wealth Inequality.”

His sharp wit and insightful commentary will force you to examine your position on a number of economic and social issues.” said Reed Watson, director of The Hayek Center for the Business of Prosperity, and a professor of practice in the John E. Walker Department of Economics at Clemson.

Tamny opines on monetary, tax and trade policy issues, and about the securities markets. He is frequently published in the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, the National Review and other financial publications. He is also a weekly guest on Forbes on Fox.

In the spirit and execution of Mr. Clemson’s Will, the Hayek Center for the Business of Prosperity is a physical and intellectual hub of academic scholarship and undergraduate education that explores the role of business in generating societal good.
