Faculty Resource Center Office Hours

September 3, 2024

As a faculty member, you know how crucial it is to provide an engaging and accessible learning experience for your students. But with the complexities of online teaching, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. We are here to help! Book a consultation with us to discuss Canvas online pedagogy, optimize your Canvas course, or build new course components. We can also explore practical ways to improve your course’s accessibility and discuss the Quality Matters (QM) process, along with other services we offer. Whether you are new to Canvas or looking to refine your course, these sessions provide valuable insights and personalized support.

We are making it even easier to connect with us by offering the option to book a session with us directly through the Faculty Resource Center’s Zoom scheduling. If you have not yet accessed the FRC, you can self-enroll at any time

Why Book a Consultation with Us?

  • Enhance your online pedagogy with Canvas: Learn best practices for engaging students in Canvas. We can help you implement interactive tools, discussion boards, and collaborative assignments that align with your teaching goals.
  • Optimize your Canvas course: Get advice on how to streamline your course layout, organize your content effectively, and ensure your students can easily navigate your materials.
  • Build new course components and media: We can guide you through creating video lectures, interactive quizzes, or other multimedia.
  • Improve course accessibility: Address accessibility issues in your course and ensure that all students, including those with disabilities, can fully participate in your class.

How to Schedule a Zoom Consultation in Canvas

  1. Log in to Canvas and open the Faculty Resource Center. If you have not yet accessed the FRC, you can self-enroll at any time.
  2. Access the Zoom Integration. In the course menu of the FRC, select Zoom.
  3. Click on Appointments. Select from the options available and book a consultation.
