Creating and Editing Banner Images

A banner image can enhance your Canvas course design and immediately let students know they are in the right course. You can find the step-by-step process on how to create a Canvas Banner in the Faculty Resource Center (FRC), which includes access to a number of tools and guides.

Because banners upload to Canvas as images, you will need to create a new one specific to your course. We have created some customizable templates for you to make it easy!

From the Home Page of the FRC, choose the Canvas Design Help button. Click “Course Banners” where you will see the customizable banner process laid out. Once you have followed these steps, you will be able to adjust the banner settings and design to how you see fit.
