On July 26th, IT Services Specialist John Dickinson facilitated a Quick Hits session dedicated to setting up Canvas gradebooks. The training explores different ways to organize assignments in Canvas courses, how to change technical assignment elements such as grade weight, general Canvas gradebook settings, and how to use the Speedgrader feature.
Establishing a Canvas gradebook system that works for you is a great way to start minimizing course clutter before classes even start! Knowing where to find all of your posted assignments, assigning grade weights early, and enabling certain features like student groups are just a few of the methods for organization that Dickinson discusses. Additionally, Dickinson provides demonstrations of all of the Canvas gradebook’s more technical features.
Overall, this session provides audiences with valuable information regarding the Canvas gradebook and outlines various strategies for managing assignments within this program.
