Welcome to Clemson, new instructors! We’re excited to have you join our community. To help you get started, we have some instructional events lined up for you throughout August. Join us for the New Instructor Conference on Wednesday, August 14, and take advantage of one-on-one support over Zoom the following week. Clemson Online is here to support all instructors at every level who utilize Canvas, Zoom, and other online instructional tools in any teaching modality.
August 14 – New Instructor Conference
The New Instructor Conference will be held on Wednesday, August 14th, with both in-person (A) and Zoom (B) sessions from 12:30 to 4:30 pm. Review the descriptions below to determine which sessions best fit your teaching needs, and then register for the New Instructor Conference.
In-person (A) sessions are designed for instructors who are new to teaching with Canvas. These sessions will cover Canvas basics such as importing content, creating a homepage, setting up your gradebook, building assignments and activities, and using academic integrity tools. The in-person sessions will be held in rooms 200B and 204 in the Cooper Library.
Zoom (B) sessions cater to instructors experienced with Canvas. These sessions will focus on increasing student engagement, designing for accessibility, organizing your Canvas course, using Clemson library resources, and utilizing Kaltura, Clemson’s video storage solution. The Zoom sessions will be held virtually, and the link will be sent to registrants via email.
