Be one of the first: Quality Matters Now at Clemson
Clemson Online is now conducting Quality Matters (QM) course reviews for your online and blended/hybrid courses! Courses that pass a full review can earn a QM certification, which is a nationally recognized mark of quality. We also offer internal reviews; while not eligible for the QM certification, they can be a good option for individual professional development goals.
Why submit your program’s courses for a QM review with Clemson Online?
- The QM review rubric contains eight standards that assess quality in every aspect of an online course: learning outcomes, alignment among course and unit components, accessibility, and more. The rubric is backed by research and can apply to both fully online and blended/hybrid course modalities.
- The QM review process is a proven way to improve your online courses, whether you are aiming for certification, or doing an internal review.
- Many principles of quality online teaching are directly transferable to face to face courses, so QM reviews can have positive impacts beyond the reviewed course.
- Clemson Online has experienced, enthusiastic staff who are QM certified reviewers and who have earned QM certifications for courses of their own. You’ll be in excellent hands during the entire review process.
Dr. Craig Wallace, Chair of the Department of Management, is going to be one of the first at Clemson to participate in the QM review process. He offered the following rationale:
“Our professors are some of the most knowledgeable faculty in the world and we take great pride in delivering exceptional classroom instruction. Yet, like most professors, Covid threw us for a loop with an overnight switch to pure online instruction. Yes, there have been some growing pains, but also some significant wins during these trying times. As we look to better optimize virtual and face-to-face instruction moving forward, I am very happy to test our mettle with a review from Quality Matters. I believe we will discover insights that will further propel our collective instruction forward to better prepare management students for a successful and impactful career.”
