Events

HERO Project: Hayek’s Excellence in Research and Outreach (HERO) Program is back to help students across Clemson’s campus incorporate business principles into their community outreach and international aid projects. There are lectures by renowned philanthropists, business leaders and scholars, as well as mentoring opportunities. Join the Hayek Center Monday (11/18) from 6-8 p.m. in Watt 208.

Creative Inquiry Symposium: Creative Inquiry students will present “Stories of Refuge, Detention, and Hospitality” Thursday (11/21) at 5 p.m. in Watt 106. This symposium is a collection of findings from their visit to Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, GA, as well as what they learned about the hospitality house El Refugio and the legal advocacy of lawyers and volunteers. Co-sponsored by the National Scholars Program. Refreshments will be provided.

Chronicle Release: Join the student staff of Clemson’s literature and arts magazine The Chronicle as they celebrate the release of their Fall 2019 magazine. They will be distributing copies of their new issue Thursday (11/21) at 9 p.m. in the Watt Atrium. While you’re there, enjoy open mic, free T-shirt screen printing, caricatures and more.

TIGERS ADVANCE: The next installment of the TIGERS ADVANCE Distinguished Speaker Series will take place Friday (11/22) at 2:30 p.m. in the Watt Auditorium. Join to learn more from Mariana Wolfner of Cornell University, who will be presenting “What’s Love Got to Do With It? Stimulating Reproduction and Activating Eggs in Drosophila.”
