Georgia Institute of Technology, School of Mathematics REU

February 4, 2020

The School of Mathematics at Georgia Tech invites application for undergraduate research in algebra, topology, discrete mathematics, applied mathematics, analysis, and other topics in Summer 2020. A list of past and future projects can be found here.
The program is open to all undergraduate students, regardless of major, who are US citizens, US permanent residents, or are based at a US university on a visa allowing them to legally work for Georgia Tech. The deadline for applications is February 15th, although applications received after the deadline may still be considered. Decisions will be announced by March 20th.
A typical research project lasts approximately 8 weeks, in June and July, although the exact timing is negotiable and can be worked out between students and their mentors. There will be a $5000 total summer stipend, and there is affordable housing available on campus. In most cases no separate travel, housing, or meal funds are provided.
The application should include one reference letter, an unofficial transcript, and a personal statement listing math courses (with grades), computer skills, previous research experiences, preferences for mentors and research subjects, and explaining why the student wishes to participate in the program.
Underrepresented minority students are strongly encouraged to apply.
