Green Infrastructure for Sustainable Urban Environments University of Tennessee Research Experience for Undergraduates

January 4, 2024

GI4SUrE! is a 10-week summer program that will immerse 10 undergraduate students
in green infrastructure (GI) research.
GI is a better way to build, restore, and improve urban infrastructure. Students explore how
GI can mitigate the effects of urban runoff on surface water quality and hydrology through
field, lab, or modeling work. Although based in eastern Tennessee, the research will affect any
geographical area that deals with urban stormwater runoff. Students will be part of a professional
and social atmosphere that will develop their fundamental research methodologies and
critical thinking skills.
