This year is truly a championship year, especially within the Graphic Communication’s department. Current students in the GC department have been able to work and learn like champions, thanks to X-Rite Pantone. At the beginning of the academic year, X-Rite Pantone was able to contribute equipment for our students, worth up to $500,000. The contribution includes hardware for students that are readily available within Clemson’s graphic communications lab.

X-Rite Pantone is a company globalized around the world that aims to provide high end support within color management. Their solutions are maintained by professionals with a specialty of understanding the science behind color and color technologies.

The hardware that was contributed to the department included several ColorCheckers for video and digital color matching, i1 spectrophotometers, Judge lighting booths as well as i0 scanning tables. With the department having access to this type of equipment, students are able to experience a hands-on learning environment with real world technologies that are often utilized in the graphic communications industry.

Dr. Sam T. Ingram, teacher of the GC Current Trends and Development course states: “student and faculty research relies on the data–data accuracy and accessibility made possible with our partnership with XRITE. Our decades long relationship is significant toward the development of current and future leaders in numerous market segments.”
