Clemson Online: Where Tech and Teaching Meet

Congratulations to Our QM Cohort 2025-2026!

We are excited and proud to announce the completion of our QM Cohort for 2025-2026! We are very proud of the eight instructors who submitted a course for a full QM review, completed a rigorous training course, and adapted their teaching materials for accessibility.

We would like to congratulate the following instructors who have completed the QM Cohort for 2025-2026:

  • Jennifer Forsberg, English
  • Holly Hawk, Accounting
  • Ethan Kung, Engineering
  • Shraddha Rajpal, Math
  • Andrew Robb, Computing
  • Alison Starr-Moss, Genetics and Biochemistry
  • Carrie Lee, Finance
  • Katrina Okerstrom-Jezewski, Psychology

Here is what several of the cohort participants had to say about the experience:

“Clemson Online has an amazing team that helps the cohort members successfully complete the APPQMR training and prepare our courses for QM certification. Students have commented on how well organized my Canvas courses are, and I know this is due in part to my experiences with the QM rubric. All courses benefit from QM training, not just those that are certified.” – Carrie Lee, AY ’25-’26 Cohort

“Overall, the cohort experience I found to be a highly valuable professional development opportunity. I learned best practices in online education, improved my Canvas and accessibility skills, and got to see examples of good pedagogy put into practice. I highly recommend the Clemson QM cohort experience to faculty who teach online and want to be more effective instructors.” – Katrina Okerstrom-Jezewski, AY ’25-’26 Cohort

Applications Now Open!

This year’s QM Cohort application opens on August 7, 2026, and closes at midnight on August 28, 2026. Note: Applicants must have already taught the course they intend to submit for review. Cohort participants will be notified by August 31, 2026, and all responsibilities must be completed by May 30, 2027.

Instructors should be seeking to improve a Fall or Summer course, not a Spring ‘27 course. There will not be sufficient time to complete the process to teach the revised course in the Spring.

Cohort responsibilities will include:

  • Attending an orientation session (virtual option will be available).
  • Completing the asynchronous online Applying the QM Rubric Workshop (APPQMR) with certified facilitators (runs from 9/15 – 10/20).
  • Meeting with the Clemson Online review team for virtual pre-review and post-review calls.
  • Two meetings with the entire cohort to check in and discuss progress (virtual option will be available).
  • Completing an end-of-program survey.
