Scheduling a Zoom Appointment  in Canvas

Scheduling Zoom Appointments in Canvas is particularly helpful if you plan to meet with students exclusively on zoom for office hours. You can designate a specific time to schedule the meeting. Students can then block out a chunk of time to meet with you individually. This creates an individual meeting ID for each student.

How to Set Up Zoom Scheduler in Canvas:

First, select Zoom in the course navigation bar of the course. Select Appointments in the top tab. To create a new schedule, select the blue button labeled “Create Schedule.” You will then be able to edit the days and times of your new bookable schedule. You can add a title for the schedule, such as “Office Hours.” Note that the duration tab will allow you to specify how long you want those chunks of time within your scheduled hours to be. By customizing in this window you will make sure that learners will not book a meeting in days you aren’t ready for them. When students book a session from their end, the time slot will disappear from their peers calendar ensuring that there will be no double-bookings. Canvas will confirm the booking by sending you an email and the specific google link. Watch the demonstration video
