Clive Thompson Lecture: There will be a lecture, reception and book signing with technology author Clive Thompson this Wednesday (10/23) from 7:30 to 9:15 p.m. in the Watt Center Auditorium. Thompson’s lecture will focus on his latest book, “Coders”. Thompson writes for Wired Magazine, the New York Times and more.
Sports Illustrated Day: Join the Department of Communication Friday (10/25) for presentations from Ryan Hunt, co-editor-in-chief of Sports Illustrated, and Jamie Lisanti, special projects editor. Their talk will emphasize the changing role of sports journalism and compare the state of sports journalism in 2019 to previous decades. They’ll be speaking at 11 a.m. in the Watt Center Auditorium.

Clemson Teaching Excellence Conference: The second annual OTEI Clemson Teaching Excellence Conference returns to the Watt Center Friday, Nov. 1, with nationally-recognized speaker Dr. Regan Gurung, evidence-based teaching workshops, open-floor demonstrations and networking, and more. Attendees can register for the conference online.
