Clemson Online update from Director Matthew Briggs
As we progress through February, all of us at Clemson Online hope that your Spring semester is off to a great start! We are busy working on many exciting initiatives that continue to support the growth of quality online offerings here at Clemson, as well as strengthening learning technology use in all classroom modalities.
Clemson Online’s mission is to provide expertise and personalized faculty support to create and sustain unique learning opportunities and environments. We do this through a variety of support channels, helping faculty with everything from online course and program development to best practices with Clemson supported learning technologies. Our talented staff help all faculty facilitate their courses utilizing such technologies as Canvas, Kaltura, and Zoom. We also help online faculty and programs through every step of course development, assisting in the creation of quality, student-centered learning experiences.
The Fall semester saw our staff support over 560 unique faculty members through well over 1,700 interactions, both significant increases from Fall of 2021. We offered 23 Faculty Development sessions on a variety of expanded topics this Fall, including the launch of Kaltura across campus. Our partnerships helped facilitate growing numbers in both Cooperative Extension and professional development course offerings, with support that included everything from instructional design to video production services. Fall of 2022 alone saw us support over 140 instructional video and media productions!
If you have not had a chance yet, please check out our Events Page to learn about our upcoming learning opportunities. Even if you miss a live event, you can find archived learning opportunities. Also, if you are faculty already running an online course or getting ready to begin teaching online here at Clemson, take a look at our expanded Quality Matters offerings. These offerings will help you in the creation of Clemson-quality online experiences. As always, we are here to help.
Go Tigers!
