Vendor-led Canvas training, Oct. 31–Nov. 2

October 3, 2016

By April Pelt, E-Learning Strategist at Clemson Online

Mark your calendars! Erin Wasson from Instructure will be on campus to offer a series of Canvas training courses from Monday, Oct. 31 to Wednesday, Nov. 2. The courses will cover a wide range of specialized topics from creating and grading student work to designing homepages, syllabi, and content pages. A full list of the course offerings is available on Clemson Online’s events page.

The sessions, which range from 30 minutes to an hour, will be offered on multiple days and at a variety of times to accommodate instructors’ busy schedules. Each session will take place in Barre B106. Space is limited, so all faculty and staff are encouraged to RSVP for vendor-led training if they wish to participate.

These training sessions offer something for everyone. According to Allyson Davis, Associate Director of Online Faculty Development for Clemson Online, “Whether you’re just getting started with Canvas or have been teaching with it for a while, these courses will help you learn to make the most of Canvas’s tools and features.” However, to get the most out of Erin’s sessions, Davis advises those who are completely unfamiliar with Canvas to attend one of Clemson Online’s “Introduction to Canvas” courses. To register for one of these sessions or to research additional training opportunities, please visit Clemson Online’s events page.

Jonathan Lashley, Clemson Online’s Deputy Director of Texts and Technologies and the Canvas Transition Lead, praises Instructure’s staff for “ensuring that the Clemson community meaningfully adopts Canvas in its teaching and learning.”
