Equipment

  • Stove

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey lean
  • 2 TBSP teriyaki sauce low sodium/low sugar
  • 2 scallions sliced
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 6 pineapple rings ¼ inch thick
  • 1 red onion thin slices, small
  • 6 slider buns whole grain
  • 2 TBSP mayonnaise light
  • 6 green lettuce leaves rinsed and dried

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill pan over medium-to-medium-high heat.
  • Combine the ground turkey, teriyaki sauce, scallions, and garlic in a bowl until well combined. Do not overmix. Form the mixture into 6 slider burgers.
  • Oil the grill pan, and cook the burgers until they reach an internal temperature of 165℉. This should take 3-4 minutes per side.
  • While the burgers are cooking, grill the pineapple slices, letting them develop a slight char on the rings and allowing their natural sugars to caramelize and flavors to deepen. Do the same with the onion slices.
  • Toast your slider buns, if you like, and then assemble your burgers. Take 1 tsp of mayonnaise per burger bun before layering the burger, pineapple, onion, and lettuce leaf on top. Serve and enjoy!
