Giovanni Biglino, PhD, Dr. Richard Figliola’s London based post-doc who is at Clemson this spring/summer received the Levitronix ASAIO Fellowship for Young Investigators for our presentation “A Patient-Specific Paediatric Mock Circulatory System: Investigating the Circulation Following the Norwood Operation,” by G. Biglino, A. Giardino, S. Schievano, A. Taylor, And R. Figliola. Giovanni will be recognized at the ASAIO Conference in Washington, D.C. this June. This award is given to the presenters of the top three papers at the conference. As part of the Leducq grant, we are developing mock circuits of all Stages of the Fontan circulation to investigate virtual surgery alternatives.
