Congratulations to Jennifer Brown for receiving the Joanne Frances Prien Memorial Scholarship from the Georgia Engineering Foundation (GEF) this fall. Mrs. Brown is currently a PhD student in mechanical engineering.
Comprised of nine professional engineering societies and four associate member organizations, GEF awarded over $80,000 this year to 45 outstanding young engineers from across Georgia to promote their academic pursuits. The Joanne Frances Prien Memorial Scholarship was established by her husband, a Life Member of GEF, to continue her legacy. Throughout her life, Mrs. Prien worked tirelessly to support the education of young engineers. As the sponsor, her son, John Prien III, presented this memorial award to Mrs. Brown at the GEF Award Banquet in Dunwoody, GA on November 15th (pictured below).
