Gabbard and Bostwick win Gallery of Fluid Motion award

November 28, 2022

The Gallery of Fluid Motion is an annual showcase of the ‘aesthetic and science of contemporary fluid mechanics`. Submissions from around the world are judged according to their visual qualities and scientific interest by members of the American Physical Society’s Division of Fluid Dynamics (DFD). At this year’s annual DFD meeting in Indianapolis, IN, Clemson Mechanical Engineering PhD student Chase Gabbard and his advisor Dr. Joshua Bostwick were named winners of the Gallery of Fluid Motion for their 3-minute video submission, “Thin film flow between fibers: inertial sheets and liquid bridge patterns”. Their winning submission is accompanied by an invitation to write a short article describing the video’s content to be published in Physical Review Fluids ahead of the 2023 DFD meeting.
