Prof. De Xie (Ph.D., 2002) has been appointed as the Deputy Dean of School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China since September, 2011. Prof. Xie, a former Ph.D. student of Prof. Sherill Biggers, joined HUST as a professor in 2007 after working five years in the States. His current research interests cover structure and fracture analysis and computational mechanics. HUST is one of the top universities in China.
