The Design Innovation Studio is a new resource for Capstone Design and Student Design projects in the Department of Mechanical Engineering located in 111 Fluor Daniel EIB. The studio consists of 2000 square feet of dedicated project space that can accommodate prototype fabrication, experimentation and testing, and a group meeting location for student groups to generate solutions to problems and present and share. Phase 1 efforts began in Spring 2016 with a new floor, furniture, and smart touchscreen monitors. The space is currently open for student meetings. Phase 2 will include the acquisition of additive manufacturing devices, electronics and testing components, hand tools, and benchtop fabrication. We are grateful to ME4020 capstone design supporters that have invested in the program and made this space possible. For more information on hours, certification for access, and questions please visit the Design Innovation Studio’s website.
