Online Teaching highlight: Zoom High-Fidelity Music Feature

Want a boost to the audio and call quality of Zoom calls and Zoom recordings? As we move back to classrooms, it is important to note that Zoom can still be a useful tool for impactful education even when you are fully in the classroom. The High-Fidelity Music Mode is obviously geared towards musicians, performers, and live demonstrations (think a virtual yoga class) that uses music. However, this Zoom feature can be used in telehealth for hearing heartbeats and breathing.

What disciplines could be using it

Music – Zoom recordings of performances to upload to Canvas or in live sessions
Nursing – Zoom calls for live telehealth practice
Speech Pathology – Zoom calls for working with clients
Any course where the highest range of sound quality could be used to educate learners on the tools they can use as professionals.

How to enable this feature

Simply follow these steps or watch this brief demonstration

Simply open Zoom and open settings
Select Audio to locate “Music and Professional Audio”
Select the box next to “Show in -meeting option to enable ‘Original Sound’”
And select “High fidelity music mode”

Quick note

We recommend using an ethernet cable to access the internet and closing all other non-essential programs when using this feature.
