When you are the instructor of record for a course, your role in Canvas will be Teacher. In addition to creating and publishing course content, this role allows you to add other people to the course. If you add others to your course, make sure to pay attention to the role you assign to them.
Students are automatically added by iRoar and cannot be added or removed by the Teacher. Students have access only to published content and their own grades and groups.
Select the People tab in your course menu. On the right side of the screen, you will find a purple +People button to click. Enter the email address for the person to add. Choose a role for them from the drop down menu, and click Next. Verify the correct information before clicking Add Users. Learn more about the various Role Permissions in the Faculty Resource Center.
Encouraging your learners to engage with you, their peers, and your course starts with orienting them to online learning and establishing your presence. Join this presentation to learn more about deploying these principles in your course to encourage learner engagement.
