Clemson Online: Where Tech and Teaching Meet

Did you know you can enable Live Transcriptioning in your Zoom calls? Read below to find out how easy it is to do!

Quick Tip: Zoom Live Transcript

If you meet regularly with your learners over Zoom or have virtual drop-in hours, be sure to inform your learners about Zoom’s live captioning and transcript features. Zoom will live caption and create a transcript of the audio it picks up.

Enable Zoom Live Transcript

To enable these features, select “Live Transcript” at the bottom of your Zoom window. You may have to select “More” to find it.

Here you can either assign someone to type in real-time or yourself. If you would prefer the automatic feature, select “Enable Auto-Transcription”.

Your learners will have to select if they wish to have captions popping up or if they prefer to view the live transcript. They can make these changes by selecting the up-caret “^” on “Live Transcript” at the bottom of their screens.
