Join a Bootcamp session to get your online course ready for summer!
Are you teaching a new online course this summer or fall? Are you shifting a current face-to-face course to an online format? Bootcamp is for you!
Participants will meet in groups for a series of four 2-hour sessions (1:00pm – 3:00pm) over four weeks to learn the fundamentals of online teaching and course design, based on Quality Matters’ “Bridge to Quality” framework. Each session will be divided between the presentation of pedagogy and design principles and hands-on workshop time for instructors to develop their Canvas sites. We will discuss course alignment, engaging learners, and connecting course components while empowering you with the tools you need for a successful online course.
An intensive, one-week option will be offered during Spring Break (9:00am – 11:00am) and in May (9:00am-noon).
Facilitated by: Leslie Fuller, PhD, and James Butler, MA. Note: participants must attend all four sessions to earn the digital badge.
Option #4 (3-day option): May 8, 9, & 10, 9:00a – 12:00p, in Sirrine 114 or Zoom
If you are preparing another semester of an online course you have taught before, we have other Quality Matters for Summer Accelerate opportunities for you!
Learners benefit from instructors modeling academic integrity principles such as including citations and source credits. However, many instructors are not familiar with copyright and “fair use” guidelines as they apply to online courses. Join us to learn about common copyright violations in online teaching and how to avoid these issues by modeling appropriate copyright practices throughout your Canvas courses.
Facilitated by Sharyn Emery, PhD, Digital Learning Manager.

We have a robust Spring semester lineup of topics and live training formats to support your use of Canvas and other e-learning tools. Topics cover demonstrations of using Kaltura, presentations on inclusive practices for online education, and workshops to get your Canvas site ready to teach!
All of our live training is recorded. Registrants will automatically receive a link to that day’s video after it has been processed.
