Eliza Gallagher, PhD candidate, Wins NSF Travel Support Award

April 5, 2016

Eliza Gallagher, ESED PhD candidate and lecturer in Mathematical Sciences, won a Travel Support Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences (CBMS) to attend the NSF-CBMS Topological Data Analysis (TDA) Conference at University of Texas-Austin in June 2016. This competitive award will allow Eliza to develop skills in TDA, which is a powerful and mathematically sophisticated data analysis method used to make inferences within large data sets. The conference entails a series of 10 lectures and hands-on data analysis with experts from Duke, Stanford, Carnegie-Mellon, the University of Chicago and the Ohio State University.
