Energy for tomorrow Winner 2011

jamesmackIn this year’s Energy for Tomorrow competition, graduate students from top business, environmental, public policy and engineering schools from around the globe were invited to discuss energy innovations in the urban environment and how this will affect consumer behaviour.

TIME, FORTUNE and Shell would like to congratulate the winner James Mack. The judges were impressed with his solution that integrated technology and policy innovations to create sustainable energy for tomorrow.

James Mack is currently a Ph.D. student in mechanical engineering with a minor in electrical engineering at Stanford University. His current work is on charge transfer in quantum dots, with applications to photovoltaics and advanced capacitors. He received a M.S. in aeronautics and astronautics from Stanford and a B.S. in mechanical engineering fromClemson University. When he is not working, he enjoys outdoor sports and teaching as a certified flight instructor.
