The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Clemson University (a Carnegie RI Research University) invites applications for a faculty position in astrophysics at the tenure-track Assistant Professor or higher level to begin August 15, 2019.

Currently, our department has strong research efforts in the areas of high-energy astrophysics, time-domain and multi-messenger astronomy, nucleosynthesis, and star & planet formation. Our search will be primarily focused on candidates with research interests in time-domain and multi-messenger astrophysics. However, applications from outstanding candidates in all areas, including computational astrophysics and observations are encouraged. We seek someone who can complement and enhance the research activities of the department.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy is a collegial, collaborative environment committed to broadening participation in Physics & Astronomy. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a vigorous externally funded research program and teach physics and astronomy at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or closely related field.
