The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Clemson University (a Carnegie RI Research University) seeks candidates to fill a tenure-track faculty position in computational condensed matter physics or computational atomic and molecular physics at the Assistant Professor or higher level to begin on August 15, 2019. Exceptional candidates from related fields of computational physics are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have access to the Palmetto Cluster, Clemson University’s high-performance computing (HPC) resource.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy has research programs in condensed matter physics, atomic and molecular physics, atmospheric physics, biophysics, and astronomy; additional information can be found at http://physics.clemson.edu. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a vigorous externally funded research program and teach physics and astronomy at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
