Clemson University invites applications and nominations for the Chair of the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry. The individual who holds this leadership position will serve as the executive officer of the Department and report directly to the Dean of the College of Science. Candidates are expected to merit the rank of Full Professor with tenure, have an internationally recognized record of scholarship, and possess significant leadership experience.

Congratulations to Eugene Bishop, an undergrad researcher in the Rajan Sekhon lab in the Department of Genetics & Biochemistry, for being the first author of a manuscript published in a peer reviewed international journal. The manuscript published in journal Genomics investigated the diverse roles of the AT-Hook gene family in plants, and identified interacting partners of this gene family in maize genome. Eugene has also coauthored another manuscript recently published from the Sekhon lab
