Colleton County 4-H Cooks with Chef Chad

Dawn Stuckey, 4-H Youth Development Agent – Colleton and Hampton Counties

At the January 4-H Club meeting, Colleton County 4-H members had an opportunity to work with Clemson Extension Food Safety Agent Chad Carter.  Chef Chad taught the group food and knife safety while giving them the skills to chop vegetables to make a delicious chicken stir-fry. Parents were a little concerned when they learned the lesson; however, there were no accidents, and the food turned out great! Part of what we do in 4-H is to allow members the opportunity to learn in a safe environment. When expectations are made ahead of time, the children always succeed in meeting them. We send Chef Chad a huge “Thank You!” for helping make the best better in Colleton County.
