Jevencia Hill – EFNEP Agent and Nutrition Educator – Hampton County

Jevencia Hill has been an employee of the Hampton County Clemson Extension Services EFNEP Program as Nutrition Educator since February 200. She graduated on December 13, 2010, from the University of South Carolina – Beaufort, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services.
Her skills include but are not limited to the ability to learn new tasks quickly, problem-solving, working in groups and independently, project and task management, coordination, and planning. These skills are a direct result of her work and collegiate experience, commitment to personal and professional excellence, and excellent written and oral communication skills. She has also had the opportunity to provide group therapy groups with individuals who are dually diagnosed or have experienced some personality and/or mental disorders. People are her passion! She enjoys working with individuals as well as groups on promoting healthy lifestyles. Jevencia likes promoting the mental acuity, physical activity, and diet quality of her clients during her career.
Currently, she is assigned to coordinate and implement nutrition education classes for youth and adult citizens of Hampton County. Their focal areas are diet quality and physical activity, food resource management, food safety, and food security. Their target populations are those individuals or families who are limited resources or recipients of SNAP, AFDC, WIC, or Head Start programs. As they continue to implement programming in the community, they are also excited about the community partnerships they have gained over the past year. They plan to secure these relationships and continue futures services to the Hampton County residents.
Jevencia loves the mission of the program in which she works. EFNEP allocates resources and services to provide better opportunities to individuals/groups. This holistic manner can benefit the individual as well as the entire county in a positive way. The most memorable in-person experience at extension was her first day. She was a bit afraid of the new environment and the thought of forming relationships with new people. However, the love, laughter, and positive vibes enabled her to transition very well. She thanks each one of her co-workers for that positive experience!
