Julia Cox has been working as the 4-H/Youth Development agent in Aiken and Edgefield counties since November 2015. Before becoming a full-time agent in 2015, she held a 4-H internship in McCormick County with FNR/4-H agent Jaime Pohlman as her supervisor while working towards earning my Agricultural Education bachelor’s Degree.
Shortly after getting settled into her new role as the 4-H agent in her counties, Julia decided to earn her master’s Degree. She graduated from Clemson University in December 2019 with a master’s in Agricultural Education.
Within her role, she feels most confident in developing programming within the realm of natural resources for her clover bud and junior youth. Julia’s favorite part of this job is sharing her passion for the agricultural industry with various individuals and witnessing “ah-ha moments” during her programs. These moments are what make Julia look forward to the rest of her career with Clemson Extension. Her experience thus far with Clemson Extension has been memorable all around, making it hard to pick one occasion. However, having the opportunity to attend National 4-H Conference in Indiana and meet 4-H agents worldwide.
