The Colleton County Clemson Extension office would like to wish the best of luck to Campbell Pryor as he enters his Senior Year at Clemson University. Campbell was the Summer 2020 and Summer 2021 Intern for the Colleton County office.
As many of us can relate, Campbell’s first year as an intern was not a “normal” internship. He worked remotely and on a flex schedule as many other people did during the pandemic. One might think it would not be an excellent learning experience for him, but the pandemic showed Campbell how quickly and efficiently Clemson Extension can adapt to meet our client’s needs. He was also able to see how well the agents and staff communicate and work together as a team. Campbell maintained the demonstration garden at the Extension office, assisted with creating video content for virtual meetings, created local farm bios, and help with the CSA mobile market.
Campbell’s second internship was this Summer (2021). Campbell was an invaluable addition to our staff. He helped with office cleaning, organizing, and the moving of office equipment/furniture. Campbell was assigned to assist with the Ag + Art Tour for Colleton County. He met with farmers on-site to confirm scheduling and artists. Campbell also visited the auxiliary sites to ensure everything was in place for the event. Before the event, he put out signage in the county to direct visitors to their destinations. During the Ag + Art tour Campbell worked at a sign-in table at Breland Hill farm.
Campbell was an instrumental part of the staff on a day-to-day basis. He helped our Administrative Assistant Brandi Murdaugh with soil sample packaging and shipping, answering phones, filing, and other office management tasks. Upon the arrival of the 4-H Pullet Chain Project chicks, Campbell helped count and sort chicks. He then helped with daily feeding and cared for the chicks until participants picked them up. Dawn Stuckey, Colleton 4-H Agent, recruited him to help prepare 4-H Healthy Living programs at the Colleton Farmers Market. Campbell was also able to go out to make site visits with Zach Snipes, Extension Horticulture Agent, and Rob Last, Extension Commerical Horticulture Agent-. He assisted with a protein study being conducted by Agribusiness Agent Steve Richards. He also attended the Savannah Valley District Meeting in July at the Colleton County Museum and Commercial Kitchen.
The Colleton County Clemson Extension office would like to express our sincere appreciation to Intern Campbell Pryor for two GREAT summers! We wish him the absolute best in his Senior Year at Clemson University and much success in his future.
